Overview

A catering barback is responsible for assisting the bartenders and ensuring the efficient functioning of the bar during catered events. This role involves providing support in setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the bar area, as well as assisting with various tasks to enhance the overall guest experience.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $20

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of the bar area before and after events.
  • Arrange and organize bar supplies, including glassware, utensils, and drink ingredients.
  • Ensure the bar is well-stocked with beverages, ice, and other necessary supplies.
  • Monitor and replenish stock during the event to meet guest demand.
  • Clean and polish glassware, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Ensure a constant supply of clean glassware for bartenders.
  • Maintain an ample supply of ice for drink preparation.
  • Regularly check and refill ice bins to prevent shortages.
  • Support bartenders in preparing and serving drinks to guests.
  • Retrieve and carry items as needed, such as bottles, mixers, and garnishes.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with drink orders and inquiries.
  • Ensure a clean and organized bar environment for a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain effective communication with bartenders, catering staff, and other team members.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the supervisory staff promptly.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects, such as cases of beverages and ice.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective verbal communication to interact with guests, bartenders, and other staff members.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Collaboration skills to work well with the bartending team, catering staff, and other event personnel.
  • Keen attention to detail in tasks such as cleaning glassware, stocking, and preparing garnishes.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a barback, server, or catering assistant, is often preferred.
