Overview

The Risk Management-Insurance Intern (RM-I) will work within the Risk Management department, reporting directly to the Director of Insurance Operations who is responsible for development and administration of insurance operations.  The RM-I Intern will observe and provide support in the areas of insurance policy and binder review, insurance invoicing, endorsement management, certificate of insurance issuance and other day to day tasks.  The RM-I Intern will further observe calls and communication with corporate internal customers and stakeholders, insurance brokers, and insurance carriers.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $20 to $25.00.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the review of insurance binders, policies, endorsements and invoices
  • Provide support for developing workflows for insurance tasks.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Insurance Operations, interact with internal customers to provide support and guidance in collecting and analyzing insurance exposure information, researching, and responding to inquiries and matching endorsements to policies and invoices.
  • Attend meetings with the Director of Insurance Operations and other members of management as needed throughout the course of the internship.
  • Aid the Director of Insurance Operations in project management activities related insurance operations, technology related projects and workflow management.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedure documents for ongoing or new procedures as needed.

Qualifications

  • Open to COLLEGE juniors, seniors and grad students seeking an internship to gain experience in the field of HR or seeking to gain college credit.
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Housing/transportation are the student’s responsibility.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong focus on detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as database experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Multilingual in Spanish a plus

  • Advanced level use and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, i.e. Outlook, Teams, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, a plus.
  • May be some travel as necessary
