Overview

The Sales department is looking for an assertive, creative, hard-working, and motivated self-starter who has the desire to work in sales. The internship will provide group sales, premium sales, and fulfillment experience in sports and entertainment operations.  Must be able to work 12 hours per week. Interns are required to work select events that occur on certain days, evenings, and weekends. The internship runs from August 26th, 2024 to December 6th, 2024.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $13.75.

 

Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

 

This position will remain open until Oct 17, 2024

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing and implementing premium and group sales initiatives for FSU Basketball, graduations, family shows, concerts, and other events.
• Prospecting and cold calling new leads for group and premium sales.
• Provide unsurpassed customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone and in person.
• Assist with updating guest lists and event sheets.
• Assist with brainstorming ideas for revenue generating opportunities at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
• Help with the planning and organizing of various sales initiatives and programs.
• Sit in on group and premium sales meetings.
• Interact with clients on event days.
• Interact with Tucker Center staff from other departments when working on various projects.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be a college junior, senior or graduate student.
• Recommended for Sport Management, Business, Communications, Hospitality, or related fields.
• Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
• Financial compensation is available, but housing and transportation are the responsibility of the student.
• Availability to work 12 hours a week, including evenings and weekends.
• Active involvement in on-campus civic and/or leadership activities highly desired.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Well organized with ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at once.
• Must be detail oriented.
