Overview

The Box Office Staff position is a primary interfacing role between patrons and the venue largely at the beginning of each event and/or between events. This interface is achieved through a variety of actions and tasks which are similar but carefully adapted to maximize customer satisfaction and retention. The Box Office Staff position, though often stationary, serves as a visible and immediately identifiable presence and resource for all in proximity. The Box Office Staff position endeavors to continually provide and model a safe and welcoming environment in all circumstances. The Box Office Staff position’s most common methods of interface can include but are not limited to: ticket distributor/scanner, cashier, telephone communicator, and more. The Box Office Staff position needs to have a strong comfortability and understanding of standard venue arrangements and layout, protocols,upcoming events and the like. The Box Office Staff position represents the venue, university, clients and themselves. The Box Office Staff position is charged to offer exceptional guest services.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate between $16.00.

 

Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent alertness and observation to surroundings, and safety procedures, near and far
  • Communicate efficiently, verbally and non-verbally, at all times with necessary parties
  • Provide OVG deliverables above guest expectations
  • Assist with completely resolving patron questions and concerns at all times
  • Maintain a positive disposition and serve as a ‘value-add’ member of the overall OVG team

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of employment
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively – and retain confidentiality at all times
  • Able to communicate and comprehend English both verbally and in written form
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Able to complete routine physical tasks (e.g.: walk, crouch, climb stairs, lift 10+lbs, push a wheelchair)
  • Able to utilize current technology
  • Able to perform basic visual and auditory functions
  • Able to function reliably in varying climates & settings (e.g.: temperature variances, lighting & sound variances, volume differences, air quality differences, weather variances)
  • Participate dependably in assigned or selected shifts
  • Able to work daytimes, night-times, weekends or holidays, as necessary
