Overview

The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for the effective supervision and running of venue distribution/warehouse operations including inventory, receiving, ordering, loading stands, clean-up, transfers and equipment maintenance.  Supervisor must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth running of (or preparation for) any assigned event. Supervisor will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards. This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business.  The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends.  Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required. Reports to the Concessions Manager. This position is seasonally full time with opportunities to work during our off season with other venues in the company.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate between $21 to $24.

Responsibilities

    • Ensure proper set-up of all concessions locations prior to doors. Set-up duties may include: verifying opening inventory, assigning duties to concession workers (employee/volunteer), ensuring sanitation standards are met, verifying that each location is fully operational, ascertaining levels of food production based upon projected guest attendance has been met; assuring that stand leader has followed proper procedures for set up.
    • Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth, efficient and profitable execution of events.
    • Training new & current employees on property procedure & best practices.
    • Willing to cover / back-up any open position to assure location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met; assist with Premium Services operations and event needs, as directed.
    • Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination; immediately address all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents or incidents. Relays safety/health issues to management immediately.
    • Ensure event staff and volunteers are aware of work place expectations; provide on-going assistance, training and mentoring to event staff and volunteers; promote a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative workplace environment by working side-by-side with staff and volunteers; reinforce procedures and practices through repetition; lead by example and provide on-going constructive feedback.
    • Ability to obtain working knowledge of all existing concession locations: geographical locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas and facility access.
    • Responsible for supervising the service of beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Must check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
    • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
    • Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to cut off alcohol to such individuals
    • Maintain and manage sanitation and organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas.
    • Provide direction to part-time warehouse staff to ensure all established loads are completed for each event, in addition to requisitioning during events, post-event break down, warehouse returns, equipment storage, sanitation and maintenance.
    • Responsible for ensuring that purchase order system is adhered to for all orders received at each warehouse; verify proper specification, size, quantity, etc. of goods received; supervise proper labeling, dating and stocking of supplies.
    • Oversee and ensure that appropriate stocking levels are met for each event; rotate and maintain integrity of product.
    • Perform routine maintenance; responsible for concession and utility equipment cleaning and maintenance: portable equipment, burden carriers, carts, floors, refrigeration, and lighting. Ensure manifested equipment is in location.
    • Conduct walk through of the commissary, warehouse and storage areas after the completion of the day to ensure all areas are clean.
    • Oversee daily operation as either opening or closing manager on duty.

Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years foodservice / hospitality experience; similar venue experience a plus.
    • Experience in a warehouse setting
    • Experience maintaining food service equipment such as fryers, grills, draft beer systems etc.
    • Food service certification
    • At Least 1-2 years’ experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.
    • Ability to supervise the work of others
    • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
    • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
    • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
    • Possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
    • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
