Overview

Under the direction of the Event Operations Manager, the Senior Event Operations Supervisor provides leadership to the Event Operations team. Responsible for scheduling, supervision and direction of all housekeeping and set-up personnel (Event Operations Supervisors and Utility Workers). This position ensures that the venue and it’s campus are clean and maintained.  Coordinate between the Event Managers and the Event Operations staff to schedule and organize the timeline of client requirements for the space contracted.

This role will pay an hourly rate between $23.75 to $25.75

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises Event Ops Supervisors and Utility staff.
  • Oversees general cleaning of the venue and the campus.
  • Oversees the set-up and breakdown of meeting space(s).
  • Assists with the inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, machines, tables, chairs, risers, etc..
  • Prepares daily work task sheets and ensures that they are
  • Support payroll with manager with by reviewing hourly employee and temp labor invoices to ensure billable are identified to events.
  • Create bi-weekly staffing schedule and by reviewing 30 days event calendar. Adjust schedule as needed closer to the event.
  • Anticipates problems and appropriate Investigates, analyzes, and resolves operational problems and complaints.
  • Identifies housekeeping needs within the venue and the campus, assigns them and ensures that they are carried out
  • Assists in coordinating the operations activities with other building departments and show-related
  • Assists with the training of staff in specifics of the responsibilities and expectations and works with staff to develop and maintain service-oriented attitudes.
  • Ensures that operations department receives pertinent information for most effective use of the facility and
  • Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other
  • Organize department documents in event ops folder: staffing, write-up, billable invoices, inventory, floor plans, review emails, event resumes, weekly productions reports.
  • Works in conjunction with the security staff to ensure that comprehensive energy conservation and security programs are adhered to in the daily operation of the venue and the campus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises employees in such as Event Ops Supervisors and Utility Workers (Clean and set ups), as well as temporary agency employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with OVG’s policies and applicable
  • Assist with interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education Some college coursework desired.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supervising or managing a public assembly venue and the campus.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of venue and the campus housekeeping standards and practices as well as public assembly venue and the campus set-up requirements.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and the ability and initiative to maintain the venue and the campus as a first-class
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish

The Senior Event Operations Supervisor works in indoor and outdoor work settings with mild to adverse exposure to environmental hazards. The incumbent must be able to climb stairs and ladders and walk long distances to access all areas of the venue and the campus. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to loud.

WORK SCHEDULE:

 

The work schedule of this position is based on business, event operations, and project needs. Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours which will require a flexible schedule availability including late nights, early mornings, weekends or holidays and the ability to remain available 7 days per week.
