Overview

Assist the Director, Insurance Operations with managing insurance operations for OVG and assist in the day-to-day operations of the insurance operations for Oak View Group and the entire complex of subsidiaries and risk exposures, domestic, Canadian, and international. Assist in the development and ongoing improvements to insurance operations workflows, implementation, and management of a Risk Management Information System (RMIS.)  Assist the Director, Insurance Operations with coordination with brokers and internal staff to manage the day-to-day operations of insurance. Respond to insurance related questions from the field and other operational departments.  Prepare and respond to insurance audit lifecycle process.  Act as the RMIS system manager.

 

This role will pay a salary of $95,300 to $98,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Act as the RMIS Manager and operational owner.
  • Conduct invoice review and refer invoices for approval
  • Daily processing of Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests
  • Collect and manage new business information
  • Management of vendor Certificates of Insurance through the RMIS platforms
  • Manage requests for new surety bonds, identify bonds which should be renewed or canceled, and assist with surety bond inquiries
  • Assist with the collection of data required to complete insurance applications, such as email requests for information, and preparing spreadsheets to summarize policy information
  • Initiate calls with the insurance brokers prior to insurance renewals to coordinate the distribution of certificates of insurance, auto identification cards, workers’ compensation posting notices, etc.
  • Review insurance policy documents and be able to identify inconsistencies in the information which was provided
  • Generate email correspondence to advise the Risk Management team and 3rd parties of newly opened or closed locations
  • Request, review and maintain the insurance policies in the RMIS, and be able to generate reports to summarize this information
  • Management of all evidence of insurance including automobile identification cards and workers compensation posting notices.
  • Manage annual insurance program renewals by working internally with cross-functional teams and with insurance broker
  • Perform underwriting data validation to verify accuracy and completeness of data and data sources
  • Proactively manage collection of risk exposures
  • Advise business on insurance-related matters based on data analysis
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance broker and periodically monitor performance
  • Collaborate and work effectively with internal teams and with global group insurance
  • Develop/provide periodical reporting and metrics and assist with risk valuation
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as necessary and draft/implement policies and procedures
  • Help department in implementing risk management/RMIS tool and utilize the tool effectively
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in Insurance & Risk Management, Finance, or other quantitative field
  • 5 + years of progressive experience in P&C, Executive Liability, Cyber, Professional Liability, Crime and other forms Commercial Insurance
  • Analytical, with ability to use data to drive desired results and support intelligent risk taking
  • Strong business acumen as well as understanding of risk assessment methodologies
  • Hands-on, results driven with strong project management skills
  • Ability to challenge status quo, drive change where appropriate, and adjust to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Goal-oriented, demonstrates the ability to manage workload when conflicting priorities exist
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge RMIS systems
  • Insurance certification (AU, CPCU or IRM) a plus
  • Bilingual skills Spanish a plus
  • Knowledge of captive insurance programs a plus
