Overview

The Suite Server is responsible for setting and maintaining advanced and event day suites food and beverage orders for Wells Fargo Arena events.  Oversee their designated suites during events.  Employees must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work an event-based schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $10 and is tip eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Suites Supervisor & Manager in preparation for the event. Stocking of suite products, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining the productivity of the suite pantry and suite storage areas.
  • Maintains current “tickets” for designated suites as orders are placed. Presents accurate final checks to the guest.  Ability to accurately report client order and appropriately add tax / service charge.
  • Checks all food & beverage for quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, uniform standards and a well-groomed appearance. Reporting any concerns to management.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for the purpose of setting up guest events with proper linen, dishware, glassware, flatware; executing service on the contracted event menu & event timeline.
  • Responsible for serving meals to guests or replenishing food for buffet service.
  • Serve beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Must check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.  Communicates last call in designated suites. 
  • Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns.
  • Refilling salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiments and napkins, as needed. Bus suite throughout the event. 
  • Clean & polish equipment used for buffet set-up. Lock-up refrigerators / liquor cabinets at end of shirt.
  • Replaces tableware and linens as needed during event or for room turnover.
  • Maintains a clean & organized work space in accordance with standard operating procedures for sanitization, health & safety standards.
  • Bartending as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One or more years’ experience as a server or in the food service industry preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use a POS (Point of Sale) system
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)
  • Professional interpersonal communication skills with co-workers, guests and managers.
  • Requires strict confidentiality with regard to guests of Wells Fargo Arena and suite owners
  • Detail oriented, organized, and ability to multi-task & prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and long hours.
