Overview

Parking Manager will be responsible for overall operation, revenue, efficiency and personnel management of the Parking Department. Monitors and provides supervision to parking staff at all locations of the Iowa Events Center. 

 

This role will pay a yearly salary of $47,000 to $55,000.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise direct supervision over Parking Supervisor(s), Lead Parking Attendant and all parking personnel.
  • Interview, select, train, evaluate, and motivate parking staff.
  • Ensure parking schedule and attendance tracking is completed timely and accurately communicated to staff.
  • Monitor and communicate parking supplies and equipment needs to Director of Events.
  • Tracks attendance of staff according to Attendance Policy.
  • Ensure employee schedules are entered timely into internet-based ADP timekeeping system.
  • Communicate policy, process and procedure updates/information with parking staff.
  • Track parking sales and maintain daily parking records through technology.
  • Reconcile cash, credit, & online sales in accordance with established accounting procedures
  • Prepare various operational and financial reports regarding areas of responsibility
  • Reconcile payroll at the end of each pay period
  • Monitor and maintain parking bank
  • Assist in operation of daily events as business demands to provide excellent customer service
  • Monitor lots during events to ensure smooth ingress of the interior and exterior of the lots.
  • Tactfully and promptly resolve all customer service issues related to parking.
  • Inspect work / productivity of parking attendants/parking supervisors to ensure that the highest levels of efficiency, accuracy and customer service are met.
  • Coordinate with Parking Supervisors and Event Managers for scheduling of staff for events
  • Ensure proper maintenance standards of all parking booths are met.
  • Coach and execute disciplinary procedures with parking staff as required.
  • Partner with Human Resources on complex discipline or terminations.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in facility management, management, business administration or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in similar field or customer service
  • Excellent computer skills in Windows format, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience entering employee schedules in internet-based timekeeping system preferred.
  • Two or more years’ high-volume cash handling experience preferred
  • Basic accounting / bookkeeping experience is helpful.
  • Ability to safely and accurately handle and account for large sums of money
  • Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently perform effectively and use sound judgment in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge / experience with supervisory skills such as motivation, support and coaching employees in accomplishing goals and objectives.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write clearly and concisely in the English language to direct staff by company radio, email and read company event details.
  • Ability to be available by company cell phone as required on event dates.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Possess valid driver’s license or have ability to acquire one.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively lead a team.
