Overview

The Maintenance Technician provides hands-on repairs and maintenance to all facility systems as assigned by the Operations Manager.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $13 to $15.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, operations, inspections, and repairs on all systems, including HVAC, electrical/lighting systems, mechanical and plumbing equipment, refrigeration equipment systems, boilers, water pumps, and building control systems 
  • Participate in the delivery of building maintenance & repair needs for events
  • Assist in work planning for facility maintenance and operations; identify and resolve problems; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work projects, methods, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets, and required records and permits. Always ensure a safe work environment
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
  • Minimum four (4) years experience in building maintenance; experience in plumbing, electrical, building repair, and carpentry work preferred
  • Experience in a convention center, sports & entertainment, or hospitality industry is strongly preferred
  • Specialized training/experience in the repair and maintenance of building HVAC and related systems preferred
  • Must have experience with power and hand tools
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements
  • Required to work independently and under minimal supervision
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs., unaided
  • Assist Operations Manager with Set-ups, Teardowns, and changeover of events 
  • Certification to operate a forklift is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum four (4) years experience in building maintenance; experience in plumbing, electrical, building repair, and carpentry work preferred
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC equipment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED with additional specialized training in a maintenance or related technical field.
  • Experience in public facility highly preferred
  • Specialized training in HVAC or related fields preferred.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending on event and business requirements.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Basic computer proficiency: Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Knowledge of applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the job duties, the employee frequently lifts and moves facility equipment and tools. The employee will constantly move about inside and outside various areas of the facility before/during/after events to interact with internal/external clients and verify the work completion; the position will require the employee to frequently grasp, hold, twist, kneel, lift, bend, stoop, or crouch to evaluate and inspect equipment and building infrastructure; the employee will as needed, operate forklift and or high lift in the assessment of and maintenance of the building and equipment. The employee will occasionally operate a computer and other office devices such as calculators, copy machines, and printers; the employee will constantly communicate via radio, telephone, email, and in-person with others and accurately exchange information.
