Overview

To supervise and coordinate the activities and operations of the Facility Plant and Engineering Department, including safety, technical services, information technology, and event staffing functions; to provide highly responsible staff assistance to the General Manager.

 

This role will pay a wage of $75,000 to $85,000.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Assume management responsibility for all activities involved in the maintenance and operation of the facility including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and ground keeping.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility maintenance and operations; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.
  • Oversee the set-up of utility services for events; coordinate facility arrangements with concessionaires; assist the Director of Operations in directing and monitoring the work of contractors, engineers, and architects on building projects.
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate supervisory and line level trades staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures within company guidelines.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Facility Plant and Engineering Department budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and recommend for approval expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and records and permits as required; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Order supplies and materials within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supply inventory.
  • Maintain technical services and information technology infrastructure, including oversight of internal or external staff, vendors and contractors.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required in a team environment that encourages exceptional service to our clients and the facility.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in the repair and maintenance of all HVAC systems including solid state controls water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, VAV boxes, AHU’s, fan coil units, and DX systems.
  • Must have sufficient computer skills to operate standard office applications and to effectively operate the computer-based building management system.
  • Must be experienced with the repair and maintenance of major systems in a large, client-centered operation including plumbing, electrical, painting, building structure, grounds, and interior aesthetic finishes.
  • Must possess valid EPA certification for the handling and use of refrigerants used in the facility.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
  • Experience in Convention Center/Hotel industry is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in building maintenance including at least two years of supervisory responsibility.
  • Minimum completion of twelfth grade with specialized training in the field of building maintenance, HVAC operation and related building systems.
