Overview

Under general direction, performs journeyman electrician level and leadwork duties in the technical operation, maintenance and repair of steam generating boilers, electrical generating equipment, auxiliary systems, fire and smoke detection and centralized air-conditioning systems of a widely dispersed building.

 

This role pays a hourly wage of $31.99

 

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and auxiliary systems; recommends operational methods and procedures.
  • Test and Maintain Emergency Generator
  • Test and Maintain Emergency Lighting
  • Maintain all light fixtures
  • Maintain fire/smoke detection systems
  • Installs and maintains show power for exhibit hall and arena power distribution
  • Troubleshoot parking gate problems
  • Track daily productivity via allocation sheets, daily logs and micro main.
  • Communicate arrival, location and departure with lead Engineer
  • Clearly, effectively and timely communicate work issues with staff
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment and auxiliary systems; oils, lubricates fans, motors, pumps and generators, cleans screens, strainers, burners and automatic controls
  • Maintain all electric cords, and other equipment
  • Maintain clearance around electric panels, transformers, etc.
  • Operate, configure, set up zones, create reports, on Square D Powerlink/Power Logic System
  • Train Engineering Staff in all matters electrical for the IEC
  • Utilize Engineering staff to assist in electrical duties throughout the IEC.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Completed 5 year Electrical Apprentice school
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of steam generating boilers, centralized air-conditioning or electrical power generating equipment and auxiliary highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to report for emergencies as needed
  • Must have open availability to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays

  • Employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Employee must frequently push, pull, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • The duties of this position are performed primarily in doors and occasionally outdoors in all types of weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate to loud during event days.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
