Overview

The Training Supervisor will be responsible for delivering outstanding training and workshop activities that engage our employees and meet their learning objectives specific to Casino Hospitality operations. The Training Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating training, user guides, presentations, and classes under the guidance of the General Manager and the casino client.  The Training Supervisor will train all new and current employees during their expected shifts and provide ongoing continued training as the General Manager deems necessary. The Training Supervisor will also conduct welcome orientations to new employees. 

 

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required.  The employee will be required to stay current with OVG processes and casino regulations. 

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $21 to $24.

Responsibilities

  • Liasion with the Corporate Talent Management team to deliver any required training needed.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the training execution for business operations within a casino hospitality environment under the direction of the General Manager.
  • Supervises employees on the proper instructions on food handling, menu specs, cash handling and work safety rules.
  • Coordinate and proctor Servsafe food and alcohol online training for employees and track attendance/certifications.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure high level of guest service. Follow up on feedback in the moment, transition issues to appropriate supervisor.
  • Responsible for the ongoing training, development, mentoring and supervision of hourly employees, as directed by department managers; responsible for completing documentation of employee performance in accordance with company policy and practice.
  • Hands-on approach to cook times, quality, and execution.
  • Able to protect branded concepts through audits and compliance processes.
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups of 2-20.
  • Prepares materials and training rooms for class.
  • Observes and evaluates employees’ participation and tracks their attendance.
  • Must be competent with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Documents.
  • Files training materials and employee signoff sheets.
  • Tracks expirations of licenses or expired certifications for employees.
  • Contacts new hires and coordinates their training with the management team.
  • Daily data entry and clerical duties as needed.
  • Restaurant experience is required.
  • Create weekly venue specific training newsletter
  • Create monthly venue specific training shift support.
  • Conduct Monthly Supervisor specific training with oversight from the GM.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of food and beverage experience.
  • Must have prior training experience
  • Valid Food Handler’s certificate as required by state and/or county of venue.
  • Valid Alcohol Service Permit as required by state and/or county of venue.
  • Basic computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Represent OVG process and policies in a professional and positive manner
  • Ability to clearly speak read and write in English.
