Overview

Under general direction of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for performing, monitoring, and auditing all financial transactions, as needed, and overseeing and administering all Payroll functions. This posiiton will also provide general human resources administration support in collaboration wirh the Director of Finance and Corporate Human Resources representatives. In addition, the Accounting Manager is the direct supervisor over the Staff Accountant who assists the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager in all areas of the Finance department.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $55,000 to $65,000.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer the processing of: Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Deposits & Journal Entry Postings, Cash Receipts and Credit & Collection
  • Train and oversee Accounting Coordinator
  • Assist in Month-end close, Monthly Financials processing and Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with annual Budget and Audit
  • Responsible for Corporate sales invoicing per contracts, client communications and reconciliations
  • All Payroll Processing for up to 400 part-time and full-time employees.
  • Assist with the general administration of local human resources related paperwork and documentation. This position must adhere to strict confidentiality.
  • Assist with talent acquisition activities in the department such as posting job requisitions, interviewing and hiring as needed. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years professional accounting experience preferably including some supervisory responsibility and significant work in financial auditing.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance or business administration or related field. Additional experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • Solid understanding of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
  • General human resources administration knowledge highly required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and be discret.
  • Sage 100 and ADP Payroll eTime Software experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with employee files administration and HRIS systems.
