Overview

The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Event License Administrator- Part Time is responsible for managing the application, processing, and renewal of event permits and licenses within a jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with local regulations by reviewing applications, collecting necessary documentation, and issuing licenses for various events like theatrical productions, festivals, concerts, street fairs, and large gatherings; they also maintain accurate records of issued licenses and may handle inquiries regarding event permitting procedures. This position reports directly to the SVP GM of the Theatre (PSPT).

This role pays an hourly rate of $35 to $40.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the Event License Administrator includes:

 

  • Application processing:
    • Receive and review event license applications, verifying completeness of information and required documentation.
    • Assess event details like location, date, type of activity, expected attendance to ensure compliance with local ordinances.
    • Contact applicants to request additional information or clarification if needed.

 

  • License issuance:
    • Issue event licenses upon approval, including generating permits and necessary documentation.
    • Collect appropriate fees associated with event licenses.
    • Maintain a comprehensive database of issued licenses with detailed information about each event.

 

  • Renewal process:
    • Monitor license expiration dates and initiate renewal procedures.
    • Communicate with event organizers regarding renewal applications and deadlines.

 

  • Compliance monitoring:
    • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with license conditions and local regulations.
    • Investigate complaints regarding event violations and take appropriate actions.

 

  • Customer service:
    • Respond to inquiries from event organizers regarding license requirements, application process, and compliance matters.
    • Provide information and guidance on event permitting procedures.

 

  • Data management:
    • Maintain accurate records of event license applications, approvals, renewals, and any associated documentation.
    • Generate reports on event licensing activity and trends. 

Qualifications

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and ability to manage complex data 
  • Knowledge of local (Palm Springs) event permitting regulations and ordinances 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with event organizers and stakeholders 
  • Proficiency in computer systems for data entry, recordkeeping, and report generation 
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines  
  • Must have 5 plus years in the Entertainment Industry with experience in working with Artists and Agents
