Overview

The Bar Captain is responsible for setting up, executing, and breaking down of all bar events, providing leadership and guidance to staff, and ensuring all banr services align with the event’s requirements.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $21.00-$23.00 and is tip eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Oversee Bar Operations: Ensure the bar runs smoothly in the absence of the manager.
  • Staff Management: Supervise bartenders and bar backs, ensuring they adhere to procedures and standards.
  • Customer Service: Engage with guests to provide excellent service and handle any issues that arise.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and control beverage stocks, ensuring efficient use of products.
  • Training and Development: Train and coach bar staff to maintain high standards of service.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to state and city alcohol laws and hotel service standards.
  • Mixology: Create and recommend drink specials, and ensure proper mixing and serving of beverages.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests.
  • Experience: At least one year of full-time experience in a similar position, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Education: Relevant degree or certifications in hospitality, business, or related fields.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work shifts and adapt to last-minute changes.
