Overview

Self-starter who can work independently as well as with other departments to sell the Arvest Convention Center to markets as assigned including corporate, non-profit and social.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $55,000-$65,000.

This position will remain open until July 25, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Sales team in accomplishing sales goals.
  • Uses Sales and Marketing principles to promote the facility.
  • Sends client pre-event information and follow-up information that affects booking.
  • Quotes/negotiates rates and writes formal license agreements.
  • Proofs/approves contracts.
  • Handles pre-event correspondence and meetings until such time as account can be turned over to an Event Coordinator and Catering.
  • Creates goals for markets and a plan to achieve them including cold calling, tradeshows and other travel, special events, etc.
  • Provide the highest customer service excellence.
  • Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (including other departments).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relative work experience
  • Knowledge of convention industry and network of prospects and/or clients.
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in sales, customer relations, communications, and problem solving.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Work independently, exercising good judgment and initiative.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others while working.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must be comfortable making sales calls, working a tradeshow booth and presenting to prospects and groups.
  • High aptitude for figures and advanced writing skills.
  • Required to speak and understand basic English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers, customers, vendors and visitors to the facility.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • Some travel as needed.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
