The Athletic Trainer for the Reading Royals is responsible for the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries to players. This role plays a critical part in maintaining player health, readiness, and performance. The Athletic Trainer works closely with the coaching staff, team physician, and strength and conditioning personnel to ensure a comprehensive and effective sports medicine program.
This position pays an annual salary of $65,000-$70,000.

Provide immediate care and injury evaluation during all practices, games, and team activities.
Design and implement injury prevention programs, including taping, bracing, and therapeutic modalities.
Coordinate rehabilitation programs for injured players and oversee their safe return to play.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all athletes.
Communicate regularly with coaching staff regarding player health, injury status, and participation clearance.
Coordinate and communicate with the team physician and other medical professionals as needed.
Manage athletic training supplies and maintain an organized and sanitary training room environment.
Travel with the team for all road games and provide consistent medical care on the road.
Support strength and conditioning efforts to promote player wellness and peak performance.
Stay current on best practices in sports medicine, treatment techniques, and ECHL medical protocols.
Ensure all health-related policies and procedures comply with team, league, and legal standards.
Assist with pre-season physicals, baseline testing, and ongoing medical evaluations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or General Manager.
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Current NATA certification and state licensure as an Athletic Trainer (ATC).
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in athletic training, preferably with a professional or collegiate sports team.
Strong knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel.
