Overview

The Traveling Support Concession Supervisor is responsible for supporting an efficient, professional and profitable food service operation at the assigned venue. Food service operations include event planning, food preparation and production, inventory, cash control, compliance with alcohol service polices, cleaning safety, guest service, employee/volunteer training and supervision, closing duties, and any other tasks assigned by the .  The Traveling Support Manager must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth execution of any assigned event. 

 

This position is an ideal opportunity for a self-starting experienced manager who enjoys travel, has a passion for live sports and entertainment, and possesses fundamental managerial skills.  The length of service at each venue is dependent upon staffing needs ranging from several days to several months.   Specific job responsibilities will be dependent upon venue and level of support needed.  The manager must maintain an excellent attendance record and be available to work an event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. 

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $35.00.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and running all venue concessions operations before, during and after the event.
  • Duties could include staff scheduling, employee check-in, proper distribution of cash, verifying inventory, equipment inspection, POS programming and troubleshooting, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, set-up, clean-up, post-event reconciliation and reporting, communicating with clients and any other duties as assigned by the RVP.
  • Willing to cover any open position to assure location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met; assist with Premium Service operations as directed by the RVP.
  • Ensuring full compliance with state and federal labor laws, sanitation and food-related ordinances and alcohol service regulations.
  • Generating and reviewing financial reports including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, disbursements, capital investments, product costs, wage and salary control, and P&L financial statements.
  • Evaluating recent historical sales and purchasing data for the purposes of identifying purchasing patterns and accurate cost of goods.
  • Responsible for directing, developing and mentoring staff. Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice.
  • Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination; immediately addresses all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents or incidents.
  • Relays safety/health issues immediately.
  • Promote a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative workplace environment by working side-by-side with staff and volunteers; reinforce procedures and practices through repetition; lead by example and provide on-going constructive feedback.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (i.e. regarding employee placement, staffing adjustments, and/or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: MS Office, POS systems, and ADP.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Ability to obtain food handler/alcohol service certifications or permits as required by state or local government.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc. pertaining to OVG Hospitality and venue concession operations.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direction.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation and alcohol service certification.
  • Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking.
  • The Traveling Support Manager is present on the concourse for much of the event, in addition to pre- and post-event.
