The Lead Lighting Technician is responsible for overseeing all lighting operations at the Plaza Theatre, including programming, operation, and maintenance of lighting systems for live performances and events. This position reports to the Technical Director and plays a key role in creating dynamic and visually stunning experiences for audiences. Ideal candidates are highly skilled in using the GrandMA3 lighting console and familiar with modern lighting technologies.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $28.00 – $32.00

• Program and operate lighting systems for live performances and events.
• Ensure proper setup, focusing, and maintenance of all lighting equipment.
• Collaborate with directors and designers to achieve creative lighting designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly during shows.
• Maintain lighting inventory and schedule regular maintenance.
• Train and supervise lighting support staff as needed.

• Proven experience in theatrical lighting design and operation.
• Expertise with GrandMA3 lighting console.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred: Experience in live theatre or performing arts venues.
• Preferred: Familiarity with DMX networking and intelligent lighting fixtures.
