Overview

Under supervision of the Engineering Manager, The Painter is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and overall aesthetic quality of the venue through professional painting, finishing and surface preparation. This role ensures all public spaces, offices, and back-of-house areas are well-maintained, visually appealing, and aligned with the venue standards. The Painter performs surface preparation, patching, drywall repair, priming, painting, staining, and finishing work on a variety of materials. This position works collaboratively with Operations and Engineering teams, to complete projects efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to events and daily operations.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00-$25.50

Responsibilities

  • Repairing and repainting of all surfaces both inside and outside of the facility.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting including scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.
  • Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Repair drywall, plaster, and minor surface damage prior to painting.
  • Match existing paint colors and finishes for seamless touch-ups.
  • Maintain and update painted surfaces across: public guest areas (lobbies, concourses, restrooms), back-of-house spaces, offices, artist dressing rooms and production areas, suites and premium areas, and other special projects/areas.
  • Maintain organization of all paint colors listed in our finish schedule from construction.
  • Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner.
  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and local building codes.
  • Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other equipment.
  • Maintain paint inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Coordinate project timelines around event schedules to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present.
  • Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, lifting 15-50 pounds, sitting, exposure to moderate to loud noises, extensive walking through the building.
  • Support other Maintenance & Engineering team projects as assigned. Respond to urgent maintenance needs during live events when necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2-3 years of professional painting experience.
  • Experience in large venues, entertainment facilities, hotels, arenas, or stadiums is preferred.
  • Experience with drywall repair and surface preparation.
  • Knowledge of various paint types, finishes, and application techniques.
  • Ability to operate spray equipment and related tools.
  • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility. Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, risk management and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to operate monitoring controls and a personal computer using 24/7 Work Order System Windows and Microsoft Office software E-mail.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
