Overview

The Vice President, Operations provides executive leadership for all physical plant operations at Acrisure Arena, including engineering, maintenance and repairs, technology infrastructure, and security. This role is accountable for delivering safe, efficient, and high-performing facility operations through disciplined budgeting, workforce leadership, and strategic resource allocation. The Vice President drives operational excellence by establishing measurable standards, optimizing preventative maintenance programs, strengthening risk management protocols, and ensuring readiness for all events and campus activities. This position is responsible for cost control, asset protection, and continuous process improvement to maximize facility reliability and long-term performance. Additionally, the Vice President leads the development and execution of annual and multi-year capital plans, serving as the primary steward of the arena’s infrastructure, finishes, furnishings, parking areas, and campus grounds. The role ensures capital investments are strategically prioritized, fiscally responsible, and aligned with long-term asset preservation and revenue performance objectives.

 

This role pays a salary of $165,000-$185,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership and oversight of all facility operations, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety systems, technology infrastructure, security, and overall campus functions to ensure safe, efficient, and high-performing operations.
  • Lead Engineering & Maintenance, Security, Information Technology, and Site Operations teams, establishing clear performance standards and driving accountability for operational excellence, financial performance, and safety outcomes.
  • Develop and execute long-term asset management strategies, including equipment lifecycle planning, risk assessment, business continuity preparation, and emergency response readiness.
  • Oversee departmental operating and capital budgets, including invoice approvals, utilities management, variance reporting, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Direct the deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, cybersecurity integrity, and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Provide leadership for security operations, including staffing strategy, emergency preparedness, risk mitigation, and coordination with local public safety agencies.
  • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs and asset management systems to maximize facility reliability and document timely completion of work.
  • Drive energy management and sustainability initiatives, monitoring utilities consumption and implementing conservation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, building codes, and governmental requirements, and lead facility safety programs and committees.
  • Partner with event and operations teams to ensure building readiness for all events, including power distribution, HVAC, technology, life safety systems, and special event requirements.
  • Lead capital project planning and execution from evaluation through completion, ensuring scope clarity, budget discipline, and long-term asset preservation.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as senior operational leader during events as required, providing real-time decision-making and issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sports and entertainment venue operations or comparable large-scale facilities.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including operating budget oversight, capital planning, utilities analysis, and cost control.
  • Proven success leading capital projects from planning through completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance within high-traffic environments.
  • Experience implementing preventative maintenance programs and utilizing CMMS platforms to optimize asset performance.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity fundamentals, telecommunications systems, and network connectivity across Mac and PC environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership of security operations, including personnel management, risk mitigation, emergency preparedness, and coordination with local agencies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven strengths in team leadership, conflict resolution, organizational planning, and performance management.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and discretion.
  • Experience managing operations within large assembly or public-use facilities with complex event activity.
