Overview

The South Okanagan Events Centre is looking for candidates to assist as Merchandise Sellers during events and concerts in our building. This is a part time/casual position driven by the event schedule and work typically takes place during the evenings and on weekends. The appropriate candidate will be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time, work in crowds of people, be comfortable handling cash and be available into the late hours of the night.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00 CAD and is tip eligible.

 

Benefits for Part-Time roles: Pension matching.

 

This position will remain open until June 19, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the set up and tear down of merchandise booths.
  • Ensure merchandise is visually appealing and accessible to attendees.
  • Re-stock inventory throughout event.
  • Process sales transactions using point-of-sale systems.
  • Assist fans with inquiries, offer product information (sizes, styles), and facilitate quick purchases to keep lines moving.

Qualifications

  • Retail experience is a plus, and should include cash handling and the use of point of sale systems.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures, sales taxes, sales software is necessary.
  • Knowledge of various computer equipment including IPads, laptops, and POS machines is necessary.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, both existing staff and tour staff visiting the building.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills are necessary.
