Overview

The Catering Attendant delivers and serves food at scheduled functions under the Catering Supervisor, ensures the accurate execution of all events during his/her shift. Responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests at all private and major events. Sets up and serves at functions; cleans event area during and after events; breaks down the setup and leaves the area neat and clean; returns leftover food and equipment to the catering storage in a timely manner. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work an event driven schedule including nights and weekends per business needs.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $35.20- $44.00 (per CBA).

 

Benefits are per the union agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and breakdown event space based on event specifications.
  • Read and understand banquet event orders (BEO) to execute event and follow set up instructions
  • Follow proper service standards (plated, buffet, menu tasting, VIP service)
  • Assembles and delivers all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations.
  • Arrange tables and decorations.
  • Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage and service items according to standards.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests.
  • Maintain and work multiple event spaces at a given time, accordance banquet event orders.
  • Thoroughly cleans location after event is completed.
  • Returns food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to catering facility.
  • Distributes and collects customer comment cards for catered functions.
  • Stock, clean, and maintains catering facility and equipment.
  • Ensure guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times. Provide excellent customer service, anticipating guests needs, and addressing any concerns or questions promptly.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of complete menu and products on hand.
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment.
  • Follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At Least 1-2 years’ experience working in a banquet server or fine dining role.
  • Ability to carry a minimum of 6 plates on a tray for plated meals
  • Ability to move, lift, arrange up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed based on the events schedules and business needs.
  • Required to possess or obtain a valid Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Food Handler Safety Card, Tam Alcohol Awareness Card or equivalent certification, and non-gaming work permit (Sheriff’s Card)
