Overview

The Changeover Crew position is part of the Operations team at the Nampa Civic Center and is a part-time, event-based role responsible for supporting room setups, event conversions, facility maintenance, and overall venue operations. Team members play a critical role in preparing event spaces and ensuring seamless transitions between conferences, concerts, theatrical performances, weddings, banquets, trade shows, and community events. Primary responsibilities include event setup and teardown, room and theater conversions, furniture and equipment movement, housekeeping, trash removal, and maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout the facility. Changeover Crew may also assist with general building maintenance tasks, including painting, exterior facility care, seasonal grounds maintenance, and other operational needs as assigned. As a vital part of the Nampa Civic Center team, Changeover Crew must be dependable, customer-service oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physical labor while maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance. Team members are expected to respond to the needs of clients, guests, performers, and fellow staff, helping deliver exceptional experiences and ensuring the success of every event hosted at the facility.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00-$16.00

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of event setup, conversion, and teardown activities for conferences, concerts, theatrical performances, weddings, banquets, trade shows, and community events.
  • Set up and remove tables, chairs, staging, barricades, drapery, flooring, risers, portable equipment, and other event-related furnishings according to event specifications.
  • Actively care for all facility equipment and property by properly storing, cleaning, maintaining, and reporting damaged equipment.
  • Respond promptly to setup issues and operational needs as directed by supervisors and management.
  • Support clients, promoters, performers, vendors, and guests by responding to event-related requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Perform various operational duties to ensure the day-to-day functionality of the facility, including loading and unloading deliveries, transporting materials, moving furniture and equipment, and replenishing facility supplies.
  • Assist with pre-event and post-event cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, spot cleaning, carpet cleaning, and maintaining overall facility cleanliness.
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, loading zones, and event plazas, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Perform seasonal maintenance duties, including snow and ice removal during winter weather conditions.
  • Assist with general facility maintenance and repair projects, including painting, patching, minor repairs, and upkeep of operational equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and operational policies while maintaining a safe work environment for staff and guests.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and other departments to ensure successful event execution.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees, clients, contractors, vendors, and patrons.
  • Work efficiently under pressure and within tight event timelines while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality standards.
  • Be available to work flexible and irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as event schedules require.
  • Commits to maintaining a safe work environment and performing all duties in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on event schedules and facility needs.
  • Ability to successfully perform all essential job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines driven by event schedules and operational timelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, clients, vendors, and guests.
  • Previous experience in event setup, facility operations, custodial services, maintenance, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Experience operating equipment such as floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, hand trucks, and other facility or event-related equipment is preferred. Training and certification opportunities may be provided.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, event operations, and safe work practices is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service in a public-facing environment.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and capable of working in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts and events.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy equipment and materials without assistance and heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to move tables, chairs, staging, barricades, drapery, flooring, and other event-related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach overhead as required to perform event setup, teardown, and maintenance duties.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to safely operate facility equipment and tools following proper training and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities and schedules.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Must possess sufficient visual and auditory acuity to maintain safety and effectively communicate with staff, clients, and guests.
