Overview

We are seeking a Café & Starbucks Manager to oversee the daily operation of two of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art's highest-volume food & beverage outlets: our licensed Starbucks and our signature café marketplace. This leader will ensure exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, financial performance, and team development while maintaining the elevated hospitality standards expected throughout the museum. The primary focus of this role is leading a fast-paced Starbucks operation while also managing the adjacent café, partnering closely with culinary, museum operations, and senior food & beverage leadership to deliver seamless daily service.

This role pays an annual salary of $70,000 - $75,000.

Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until October 9, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operation of the licensed Starbucks and museum café.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service and hospitality standards at all times.
  • Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop hourly supervisors and team members.
  • Drive operational excellence, speed of service, cleanliness, food safety, and Starbucks brand standards.
  • Manage labor, scheduling, payroll, and productivity to achieve financial goals.
  • Monitor sales, inventory, ordering, waste, and cost controls.
  • Partner with culinary leadership on café menu execution and product quality.
  • Maintain merchandising, grab-and-go displays, and beverage presentation.
  • Coordinate with museum operations during peak attendance, special events, and private functions.
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Support opening, closing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of restaurant, café, coffee, or hospitality management experience.
  • Experience leading high-volume quick-service or café operations; Starbucks leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Experience managing labor, inventory, food cost, and operating budgets.
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
