Overview

The Cashier is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and accurate service while processing guest transactions in the venue's café, concessions, or other food and beverage outlets. This position serves as a key point of contact for guests by delivering exceptional hospitality, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring an efficient checkout experience. The Cashier also assists with stocking, maintaining clean service areas, and supporting overall food and beverage operations.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00 - $24.00

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
  • Accurately process food and beverage purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Answer guest questions regarding menu items, pricing, promotions, and venue amenities.
  • Make recommendations and promote featured menu items, beverages, and retail merchandise.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Thank guests for their visit and encourage a positive return experience.
  • Accurately process cash, credit card, mobile payment, gift card, and member account transactions.
  • Balance cash drawer and complete opening, closing, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate transaction records and follow company cash-handling policies.
  • Verify guest identification for age-restricted purchases in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial transactions.
  • Assist with stocking food, beverages, grab-and-go items, retail merchandise, and service supplies.
  • Maintain attractive, clean, and organized displays and service areas.
  • Assist with preparing beverages or light food items when assigned and trained.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors.
  • Support restaurant, café, concessions, and special event operations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, dining area, and service counter.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, counters, beverage stations, and guest-facing areas throughout each shift.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side work assignments.
  • Work collaboratively with culinary, service, and operations teams to ensure efficient guest service.
  • Assist with special events and high-volume service periods.
  • Support other food and beverage outlets as operational needs require.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous cashier, retail, restaurant, café, concessions, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system preferred.
  • Food Handler certification required or ability to obtain within the designated timeframe.
  • Responsible Beverage Service certification required or ability to obtain within the designated timeframe if serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong cash-handling and basic math skills.
  • Ability to operate a POS system accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements.
