Overview

The Sales Manager will work with the facility sales team to meet catering sales goals. This position is responsible for the overall tasks related to food and beverage sales at the facility. The Sales Manager will maximize food, beverage, and event revenue. The role will manage the sales lifecycle from initial inquiry to event execution and will actively prospect for new corporate and social clients, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with our culinary and operations teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $60,000 - $65,000 and is commission eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of all sales programs and activities.
  • Guide clients through custom menu creation, floor plans, and vendor coordination.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close sales leads for corporate meetings, weddings, and social events.
  • Plan, manage, coordinate, and review the work plan for providing marketing, booking, and sales services.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the annual budget and forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; manage the monitoring of and approve expenditures; manage and implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare written proposals; reevaluate potential business value of various events and clients; initiate contractual arrangements.
  • Conduct tours of the facility, answer questions, and provide information regarding food and beverage capabilities.
  • Meets with the General Manager on a regular basis to discuss all matters pertaining to sales operations.
  • Budget and work within the operating budget.
  • Responsible for revenue generation.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of increasingly responsible sales experience in hospitality sales, catering coordination, or event planning in hotels, cultural institutions, or other similar hospitality facilities, including management responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must have a strong track record of building relationships and generating new business.
  • Excellent organizational skills, leadership skills, and customer service skills.
  • Strong PC and data processing skills; working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, as well as database management software.
