Overview

The Banquet Porter supports the successful execution of banquets, catering, and special events by assisting with event setup, service support, room resets, and breakdown. This position helps ensure event spaces are clean, organized, properly equipped, and ready for guests. The Banquet Porter works closely with the Banquet, Culinary, Event Operations, and Housekeeping teams to provide efficient and professional event support. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00 - $25.00

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of banquet and event spaces.
  • Set and reset tables, chairs, linens, stages, risers, and other event equipment according to event specifications.
  • Transport tables, chairs, equipment, food service items, and supplies throughout the facility.
  • Assist with room flips and event conversions between programs.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready event spaces throughout service.
  • Remove trash, soiled linens, and used service items from event areas.
  • Assist banquet and service staff with replenishing supplies and maintaining service areas.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and proper storage of banquet equipment and supplies.
  • Support event operations with moving equipment and furniture as needed.
  • Respond promptly to requests from banquet leadership and event management.
  • Follow event diagrams, setup instructions, and established operating procedures.
  • Maintain proper care and organization of banquet equipment and supplies.
  • Report damaged equipment, spills, safety hazards, or maintenance concerns to management.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company policies.
  • Assist with maintaining back-of-house areas, storage rooms, and service corridors.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to guests, clients, and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hospitality, banquet, catering, event, or service experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with event setup and room conversions is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments accurately.
  • Must be reliable with attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required.
  • Ability to work around loud environments during events.
