After finishing this program, you will have gained broad experience in various aspects of event marketing, digital sponsorship and advertising, websites, guest experience, hospitality, and social media, and have a strong understanding of the core venue business. You can also expect to apply your academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate your leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Internship Details:  

  • 30-32 hours per week
  • This role is expected to last from October 5, 2026, and will end on January 8, 2027 (14 weeks)
  • Location: This is an on-site internship at the Miami Beach Convention Center

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the internship, the Marketing Intern will be able to apply foundational marketing principles in a live event and hospitality environment by supporting digital and social media campaigns, analyzing marketing and revenue data, utilizing industry tools and technology, contributing to event and venue marketing initiatives, and developing professional marketing materials and content. Through hands-on projects, collaboration with industry professionals, and participation in marketing activities at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the intern will demonstrate an understanding of B2B marketing, guest experience, sponsorship activation, venue operations, and the role marketing plays in driving measurable business results.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00.

 

This role is expected to last from October 5, 2026, and will end on January 8, 2027.

 

This position will remain open until December 11, 2026.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As an intern, you will gain valuable experience in hospitality and event management by working with industry professionals and assisting with various marketing tasks. More specifically, you will have the opportunity to: 
  • Gain website content management experience: Learn how to update the website with relevant information, such as event calendars, blog posts, video content, advertising and sponsorships, photos, and special announcements. 
  • Develop skills in using advanced data analytics tools to generate actionable insights for revenue management and lead generation/booking performance 
  • Acquire customer service skills by communicating with clients and uploading and maintaining digital advertising/sponsorship content 
  • Collaborate on research projects exploring new markets and event segments, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data.  
  • Learn about B2B social media marketing and develop skills using Sprout Social for posting on the MBCC's social media channels. 
  • Practice monitoring social media platforms, developing content for posts, and capturing the attendee experience through videos or photos during show days. 
  • Participate in weekly marketing department meetings and assist with planning, tracking, and reporting marketing activities. 
  • Gain skills in developing marketing materials, presentations, reports, and research. 

Learning Opportunities:

  • Hands-on experience in live event marketing and hospitality: You will work directly with industry professionals at the Miami Beach Convention Center, gaining practical skills in event marketing, digital and social media marketing, market & revenue analysis, guest experience, and hospitality. 
  • Exposure to industry tools and technology: Develop proficiency in data analytics platforms for marketing insights, learn website content management, and get hands-on with Sprout Social for social media marketing and engagement. 
  • Professional development opportunities: Participate in weekly marketing meetings, collaborate on research projects, and expand your network by working alongside experienced mentors and peers in the live entertainment industry. 
  • A deeper understanding of venue business and event management: Acquire knowledge about B2B social media marketing, digital advertising, sponsorship activation, and the operational aspects of running a world-class convention center. 
  • Portfolio-building projects with measurable impact: Contribute to marketing materials, presentations, reports, and digital content that showcase your skills and deliver real results for the organization—ideal for future career applications or interviews.

  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting/carrying objects, and occasional sitting. 

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited College or University; preferably in a Hospitality Management program, Business Administration, Economics, Business Analytics, Marketing or Communications.
  • Previous digital marketing and hospitality experience preferred (school, internship, or professional).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable contributing ideas.
  • Professional and effective when interacting with clients, team members, and event attendees.
  • Curious, adaptable, and willing to learn new marketing tools and practices.

Technology Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation.
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar design/content creation tools preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to learn marketing technology platforms, including Sprout Social, website content management systems, and data analytics tools.
