Overview

As a member of our Global Partnerships team, the Vice President, Sales & Partnership Management, will be responsible for the management and staff of driving news business development and partnership management for the California area. This position will work hand in hand with the Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships to build out a sponsorship team of sales and partnership management personnel, align on sponsorship strategy, and cultivate c-level and influential executive relationships locally, regionally, and nationally to drive financial success of the venue(s). We are looking for ambitious, collaborative, curious, and entrepreneurial individuals who have a passion for creative problem solving within the sports and entertainment industry.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $200,000 - $220,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key stakeholder in OVG Global Partnerships' commercial sales process for OVG.
  • Serves as a key leader on California's Senior Leadership Team.
  • Work with Executive Vice President of OVG Global Partnerships to develop a strategic plan to drive revenue while expanding partnerships within the entire OVG GP portfolio.
  • Work with Executive Vice President in hiring a team of executives with aligned vision in Sales and Partnership Management.
  • Develop sales collateral, leveraging the OVG GP Brand Consulting Team to tell the right story to sell the buildings in the most authentic manner.
  • Prospect, develop, and lead in selling new integrated business partnerships.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of entire OVG GP properties/initiatives and be able to work toward integrating, aligning, and executing the Global Partnerships team sales goals.
  • Work with the GP team in identifying and creating partnership assets, innovative platforms, and programs for California.
  • Create and effectively maintain reporting documents in an organized manner; develop and track a new revenue pipeline to present to senior leadership, ownership, etc., on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Monitor relevant market developments in the entertainment/sporting industry.
  • Attend networking and promotional events to develop contact with potential clients and partners.
  • Attends department Senior Leadership Team meetings.
  • Performs all other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • 10+ years of professional sponsorship leadership experience in a high-performance sales environment; Sports, Entertainment and/or Arena Industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate and close multi-year, seven-figure partnerships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be dynamic, forward-thinking, extremely analytical, and well organized.
  • Must have strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Strong natural selling skills with proven experience in pitch and strategic positioning.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word); Adobe Creative Cloud suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Kore.
  • Must have the presence, visibility, and record of accomplishment that will enable him/her to immediately establish credibility both within the organization and with individuals outside.
  • Must possess problem-solving capabilities to address and resolve issues that face a growing enterprise. When necessary, he/she will be a strong and effective negotiator, comfortable in both complex negotiations and sophisticated business situations.
  • Must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, nonverbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
  • Must produce results and be bottom-line oriented yet possess sensitivity towards OVG values.
  • Professional appearance, attitude, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work with others, are required.
  • Experienced with the development and execution of dynamic and effective platforms.
  • Familiarity with the standard demographic research & analytics tools (i.e., Scarborough, Repucom, Zoominfo, SponsorUnited, YouGov, etc.) and ability to derive insights from the data.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential situations and information.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 15% expected.
