Overview

The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies that promote the facility, its events, and its services while generating revenue and strengthening market presence. The position oversees marketing, advertising, digital and social media, content development, event promotion, sponsorship, and sales initiatives, working closely with the Director of Business Operations to achieve organizational goals and maximize facility and event opportunities.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $58,000 - $65,000 CAD

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans for the facility and its events to increase awareness, attendance, facility usage, and revenue.
  • Manage and coordinate event and facility advertising programs, including traditional, digital, social media, website, and promotional campaigns.
  • Manage and maintain the facility’s website and social media platforms, ensuring content is current, engaging, and consistent with organizational branding.
  • Create and coordinate marketing content, including graphics, photography, video, promotional materials, event highlights, and other digital content.
  • Develop and maintain marketing calendars and coordinate campaigns, promotions, digital content, advertising, and event marketing initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and maximize advertising, sponsorship, promotional, and marketing inventory throughout the facility and its events.
  • Create and place advertising, manage media buying, and maintain effective relationships with media and promotional partners.
  • Identify and develop advertising, sponsorship, promotional, and partnership opportunities that support the facility’s marketing and revenue objectives.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, marketing materials, advertising packages, sponsorship packages, and agreements; negotiate terms and coordinate contracts as required.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing advertisers, sponsors, promoters, community organizations, and promotional partners to support renewals and new opportunities.
  • Work with the Director of Business Operations to establish marketing, advertising, sponsorship, and revenue goals and budgets.
  • Track and report on marketing campaigns, advertising and sponsorship activity, sales opportunities, revenue, attendance, and overall campaign performance.
  • Monitor marketing and sales results and recommend opportunities to improve engagement, increase revenue, and enhance facility and event visibility.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, event promoters, sponsors, advertisers, vendors, and external partners to ensure marketing initiatives and contracted promotional benefits are delivered effectively.
  • Meet established marketing, revenue, attendance, and facility-usage goals and provide regular activity reports to the Director of Business Operations.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Business Operations or General Manager.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of sales/marketing experience, preferably with an arena, convention center, hotel, or other similar public assembly facility, including some supervisory responsibility. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Strong management, motivational & organizational skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with graphic design and content creation software such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and/or similar programs.

  • Experience with video editing and production software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with social media management and scheduling platforms, including Meta Business Suite and similar tools.

  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to meet sales goals (includes nights, weekends, and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours).
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar systems.

  • Ability to use Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms to monitor website traffic, campaign performance, and audience engagement.

  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize new marketing, design, digital media, and technology platforms as required.

  • Strong computer skills, including Internet and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of marketing and advertising/sponsorship program development.
  • Knowledge of the market and music industry experience preferred
