Overview

As an Audio/Video Tech on the events team, you will deliver championship service throughout the organization. The Audio/Video Tech will be directly involved in the operations of the facility's events.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $23.00 - $25.00 CAD.

This position will remain open until December 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the House Video and Sound Systems. Provides support for all events as required.
  • Responsible for the operation of the Clearcom system and equipment.
  • Responsible for the management of the house lighting systems.
  • Works with the event manager to ensure all the house lighting and sound requirements and IT needs are fulfilled for all events.
  • Comprehend and communicate clear instructions for event and concert setups.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and event groups.
  • Express a willingness to learn and adapt quickly to an ever-changing and fast-paced work environment.
  • Handle multiple tasks at any given time and meet strict deadlines.
  • Work and think independently and be self-motivated.
  • Adhere to all OVG service standards and policies, including an emphasis on health & safety.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Technical/trade school program certification is preferred. A combination of school and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • 2-4 years of experience working in a sports & entertainment venue is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of audio and video systems.
  • Understanding of arena/event sound systems and video production.
  • Familiarity with the terminology used in event centers and sports settings with regard to IT and AV.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices.
  • Graphical content creation skills and experience using Photoshop, InDesign, and other similar programs preferred.
  • Experience with OES clock/scoreboard/video display packages preferred.
  • Experience with Vmix and the Motion Rocket Sports Video Control System preferred.
  • Experience patching and running wires.
  • Ability to remain calm and solve problems in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule. This includes early mornings, days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift heavy objects unaided.
  • Basic computer proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
