Overview

The Ticket Seller Supervisor will occasionally serve as shift leader under the Box Office Manager’s supervision. This entails supervising other ticket sellers and, when applicable, overseeing the cash management of a given shift. Control the cash flow of the box office as needed, including cash distribution, collection, and deposits.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.50 - $18.00.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all ticket sellers and provide necessary training and information to ensure that staff remains informed regarding policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Box Office Manager to ensure that the day’s and shift’s special needs and requirements are met.
  • Assist with the monitoring and reconciliation of temporary ticket sellers.
  • Process ticket sales at the box office as needed.
  • Answer questions concerning event schedules, event prices, and ticket policies.
  • Balance all applicable transactions for the date of service and complete all necessary reports before departure.
  • Verify all receipts from daily sales and return them to the secure area for deposit.
  • Record and investigate all overages and shortages and promptly report to Box Office Manager.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Resolve patron complaints and model exceptional service standards
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts, balance change vaults, and prepare daily sales reports or deposits
  • Assist management with event settlements, statistical data extraction, and database management, including Blocktickets and Season Ticket Holders information.
  • Monitor ticket availability, manage holds (artist, promoter, house, and season ticket holders), and process inventory releases.
  • Assist with building new events, mapping venue seating charts, and configuring price zones in the database.
  • Coordinate requests from the NMSU Athletic Department regarding season ticket holders.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive operational knowledge of our primary ticketing platform.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in box office/ticketing at a sports & entertainment venue is preferred.
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Perform mathematical calculations and handle financial transactions rapidly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operate computerized ticketing system and a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including copier and fax machine.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Work independently while exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
