Overview

We are seeking a resourceful, service-focused Senior IT Specialist to join our IT team. This role serves as the senior escalation point for complex end-user technology issues while assisting with the administration, availability, security, and continuous improvement of core systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines strong troubleshooting skills with disciplined documentation, sound judgment, and a desire to grow into broader systems administration responsibilities. This position supports shows and events and requires evening, weekend, and occasional on-call work.

This role pays an hourly rate of $31.00 - $36.00.

Benefits for Full-Time Roles: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays)

This position will remain open until December 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues involving Windows and macOS endpoints, Microsoft 365, line-of-business applications, printers, mobile devices, and audio/visual systems.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID/Active Directory, user accounts, security groups, permissions, shared resources, Windows Server, and endpoint management.
  • Diagnose LAN, Wi-Fi, VLAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, firewall, and connectivity issues; coordinate with senior administrators, service providers, and vendors when further escalation is required.
  • Monitor system health, alerts, backups, storage, services, and scheduled jobs; perform approved patching, firmware updates, routine maintenance, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Analyze logs, isolate root causes, restore service, document findings, and recommend preventive or permanent corrective actions.
  • Provide responsive on-site IT support for shows and events, including network access, workstations, printers, mobile devices, and operational technology.
  • Follow least-privilege, change-management, and security practices; support onboarding, offboarding, multifactor authentication, access reviews, and endpoint compliance.
  • Maintain accurate tickets, asset records, system documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge-base articles; share solutions and coach junior support staff.
  • Assist with deployments, migrations, upgrades, testing, inventory, and task automation while communicating status, risks, and next steps clearly.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive technical support, systems administration, or IT operations experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID/Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and endpoint management concepts.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, wireless networking, and structured connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, audio/visual equipment, and common server or virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote support tools, monitoring platforms, backup processes, patch management, asset management, and IT service management practices.
  • Basic PowerShell or other scripting experience preferred, with an interest in automating repeatable administrative tasks.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL certification is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to technical and non-technical users.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to prioritize multiple incidents and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, events, and an on-call rotation as business needs require.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, work in equipment rooms and event spaces, and install or relocate technology equipment throughout the facility.
